Description

Much like currants, gooseberries possess a "wild berry" flavor but sweeter with fruity notes depending on the color. Gooseberries on the red spectrum are slightly less acidic than green varieties but exhibit stronger stonefruit and grape notes, and Garnet Gooseberries add notes of cherry candy and wine as well. With that unique flavor comes delicateness, so please enjoy Garnet gooseberries quickly! They do not develop as firm or crisp flesh as other gooseberries and resemble tomatoes' texture.

The translucent body and peel of Garnet gooseberries, not unlike the comparison between actual rubies and garnets, exhibit a clearer, "cleaner" contrast when held up to light. The first two photos are of the same Garnet gooseberry as the third photo!
