Gooseberry, Emerald

Much like currants, gooseberries possess a "wild berry" flavor but sweeter with fruity notes depending on the color. Green gooseberries like Emerald are bright, acidic, crisp and pop more than their reddish counterparts and have notes of sweet grapes when full ripe. Fun fact, these lustrous green gooseberries grow on thornless bushes unlike the vast majority of gooseberries whose bushes are studded with 1+ inch shart razor like thorns.

Gooseberries dazzle when held up to light as their translucent flesh and skin almost magically contrast against the veins and seeds.
